Don’t let the sweet grandmotherly appearance fool you. I will kick your butt if that’s what you need, but not as a career dominatrix. Or maybe that IS what I do! Hmm. I digress. Usually what works is having the kind of understanding of the issues and challenges that you are facing in your creative working life. I will work with you starting in the place you are standing, even if you feel stuck there.

My mission is to identify, convene and support the prime conditions an independent professional in the arts needs in order to thrive in place, to balance the time spent in production, creation and administration, and to maximize the attainment of sustainable income from their work.

I have, over the years, provided small business support and enterprise facilitation services targeting the cultural sector and the unique needs of arts practitioners. The purpose of my business is to provide a practical and effective approach for creative individuals and small arts enterprises across disciplines to ‘tap into’ for linking, researching, testing and learning the business side of their practice when needed, as needed. Possible for the future?  I’d like to make THIS happen:

  • An on-line membership-based network, connected through www.enterprisingartist.com, but with off-line real-time activities and services.
  • A virtual ‘office’ enabling collaborative and satellite activities to be organized globally and flexibly to to facilitate member creatives generating income more sustainably.
  • Focus groups, project planning sessions, network events and learning opportunities can take place in locations relevant and accessible to those members who need them.
  • At the same time, on-line services such as skills-matching, proposal reviews, project development, administration, invoicing, contract assistance, and links to professional service advisors who understand and support arts businesses will be available online.
